Dale Matthews counsels and assists businesses in the legal aspects of business organizations, corporate governance, operations, transactions and alternate dispute resolution. He provides advice to the principal owners and managers of the businesses he assists and has served on the board of directors of several of the companies he has advised.

Before beginning his current business practice in 1996, Mr. Matthews was vice president, general counsel and secretary of two corporations, one of which is a public company (EZCorp) and the other a $250 million subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar international company (ICI). He advised the executive management team and the board of directors of each of those companies.

In addition to experience in his current practice, Mr. Matthews has 15 years of experience managing or working in the law departments of large corporations (including Hercules, ICI and EZCorp), 4 years with the litigation team of a medium sized law firm, and 4 years as a government contracts attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the U.S. Army.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas. He also is a graduate of the University of Texas Executive MBA Program.

Mr. Matthews is licensed as an attorney in Delaware, Texas and Virginia.
